N T16984 Class 798 Powered Rail Car. Prototype: DB Regio (DB AG) class 798 (VT 98) rail bus motor car and class 998 (VS 98) control car as the "Ulmer Spatz" / "Ulm Sparrow". The unit looks as it did around 2008. Dual-motor design, built starting in 1955. Used for commuter service (branch lines). Model: The cars have a frame constructed of die-cast metal. The motor has a flywheel in the powered rail car. Both axles powered. The car has a digital decoder for DCC and conventional operation. The unit has a sound generator with extensive sound functions. Maintenance-free LEDs are used for the headlights, marker lights, and interior lighting. They work in conventional operation and they can be controlled digitally. The unit has rearview mirrors for single-man operation. The cars have special operating couplers. The motor car can be used alone.
